Canine residents at the Dogs Trust Darlington have been reading “101 Dalmatians” and “The Fox and the Hound”, as part of World Book Day.
The reading sessions are one of the ways in which staff at Dogs Trust Darlington are enhancing the daily lives of their residents at the centre, after the doggie-themed books were kindly donated by volunteer, Derek.
Sharon Boult, Dogs Trust Darlington Training & Behavioural Advisor, said: “Dogs hugely benefit from having mental stimulation included in their daily routine.
“We are always looking at different ways to enable them to use their brain in new ways.
“Interactive one on one time with both their canine carers and volunteers gives variety to their daily routine and valuable quiet time away from the kennel environment.”
